A Few Important Facts About The Miwok
The Miwok group were spread about California's Great Central Valley, including its foothill and parts of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
Its territory stretched from Mount Diablo to the west and Yosemite National Park to the south.

The tribe had a great understanding of the natural resources around them and taught that knowledge down from generation to generation.
The main source of food for the Miwok was acorns from the many oaks trees found around them.

The Miwok were known to use the granite rocks as a base to start grinding rocks to begin to crush the acorns.
As stated before the Miwok were very resourceful with the habitat they had surrounding them. A great example would be the bark from the Cedar trees would be useful in making the wall for their Umachas. They were also very very crafty by making these beautiful detailed woven baskets they used to carry either water or acrons.
